AG|WPJA The Artistic Guild of the WPJA

I was lucky to receive professional education in the field of photography. I entered into a local professional school and photography department. Education was rather strict and we had good teachers, who did not let us relax. So I started from old good black-and-white school; processing pictures by myself. I then had a very active reportage practice at the local newspaper, shooting up to 12 films a day. If one starts shooting with film, he knows the value of every shot. This influenced my own photojournalistic style in wedding photography.

I have been shooting weddings for about 17 years and I have founded my own photo studio. I also have large studio shooting experience. I have had several personal exhibitions in Ukraine, and this year in El Pueblo de San José de Guadalupe, California. Read More...

As to the number of weddings I have shot, I can say for example, that in 2008, which was a very active wedding year, I had 105 weddings. Besides that I shoot family, children, portfolio and photos for commercial, which mostly involve furniture.

On January 2009 I received 7th place in the AGWPJA Q1 2010 competition. My wife Tatyana is an artistic person and she became a photographer who works with me. She and I capture the most precious moments of our clients on their wedding day.

The Artistic Guild of the Wedding Photojournalist Association proudly recognizes the accomplishments and creative excellence of Taras Omelchenko. The following awards have been earned by Taras from the AG|WPJA. These achievements come with great merit considering the high level of competition that a member faces in the contests.
