AG|WPJA The Artistic Guild of the WPJA

I have been in love with photography since the first moment that I picked up a camera. For as long as I can remember people would ask me two things. "What do you want to do when you grow up?" and "What do you like to do in your spare time?" My answer to both of these questions is always "photography" because to me they are one in the same. The world never stops and the people in it never stop laughing, loving, crying, breathing, and just plain living, which means there are always moments to be captured! I fell in love with photography because of the precious moments in life that are meant to be relived over and over again.

Knoxville, Tennessee is the place I call home. I grew up just outside Knoxville but when I graduated from high school I couldn't get far enough away. I went to college and received my undergraduate degree at Berry College in Rome, Georgia where I served as a photographer for the campus newspaper and as a lab assistant in the dark room. Read More... I graduated in 2004 with a degree in Communications and then went on to get my Master's at Kennesaw State University. In 2004 I also married my husband, Jay. We lived in Atlanta for a few years and then I decided home is where my heart is. We moved back to Knoxville in 2009 and we are here to stay. We currently live in West Knoxville with our sweet puppy dog, Peter the beagle.

Currently I have won awards in photojournalism and creative portraits through the AGWPJA and the International Society of Professional Wedding Photography. I have also won the Brides' Choice Award through Wedding Wire in 2010.
