AG|WPJA The Artistic Guild of the WPJA

I am a traveler and I come from a family of travelers. One of my strongest memories is of my grandfather traveling, the postcards he sent from exotic places and later, the family slide show evenings of his travel slides across India, Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Originally from New Zealand, I have spent the last 14 years traveling and living abroad, including 6 years in Kyoto, Japan and 7 years in Vancouver, Canada.

A love of different cultures and their people has kept me wanting to do and see more of the world. A love of capturing people and places on film while traveling has developed into a love of wedding photography. After working my first wedding in 2004 I knew I was hooked - I had fallen in love with the beauty, the connection between lovers, the absolute emotion of the day.

I was trained in film photography and have a Diploma in Professional Photography from Focal Point in Vancouver. Read More... I made the switch to digital in 2005 and have shot over 100 weddings.

The Artistic Guild of the Wedding Photojournalist Association proudly recognizes the accomplishments and creative excellence of Leanne Scherp.
