At 14 I discovered photography on holiday in Florence. At 18 I photographed my first wedding and the couple loved the images. Since then photography has been my delightful best friend. How long has it been? Well let's just say that was more than a decade ago ;-)
My passion is creating a vivid record of your day through reportage and storybook photography. My work has a strong fine art underpinning; recently I was selected for the Professional Photographer of the Year 2012 portfolio award. To me, weddings are a time when life meets art. There is so much to a wedding and the photography needs to be a comprehensive mix of discreet reportage with some natural, creative portraits.
Passion for quality is the foundation of my work and I prefer to capture the wedding from engagement shoot through the entire day and then create an exquisite album.
Read More... That way I can ensure that quality is present at every stage of the process and I can create something fantastic that will inspire you and allow you to relive your day in 60 years time.
I love exploring colour and interacting with people. I particularly love making gorgeous records of weddings and I also love family photography. I have photographed every kind of wedding from diy weddings to boutique civil ceremonies at the Gherkin to sumptuous destination weddings in a villa near Rome. I also offer Destination Engagement shoots in London and Paris.
I trained at Edinburgh University and with St Martin's College of Art and I assisted top photographers John Glover and Martin Usborne. I also speak 3 languages ; fluent French, fluent Italian and some Spanish. My work has been featured all over the world, including in Vogue and Junior Magazine, and I am accredited with the international guild, the Artistic Guild of Wedding Photojournalists (AGWPJA). For many years I worked for The Telegraph and other broadsheets as a travel journalist, and this sense of travel photography infuses my work. I use a mixture of colour and black and white to give different nuances. My personality has been described as 'bubbly', and I make sure we have a lot of fun on the day, which comes out in the pictures. It means that couples can concentrate on relaxing and revelling in their day while I concentrate on getting great wedding photographs.
I cover London and the home counties, and I also offer some destination weddings, particularly to Paris, Rome and their surrounds, and any countries where my languages can be used. I also find that couples whose families are from different countries find it useful to have a photographer who speaks different languages.
When I'm not working I love being with my family, dancing, being in nature, cooking and being surrounded by living colour. If I can't get out to the country for a good roam or to visit a garden, then I like to say hello to the Monet Waterlilies at the Tate, for refreshment. I can't wait to hear about your wedding so drop me a line and let's meet up to discuss your ideas.
