ARTISTIC WEDDING PHOTOJOURNALIST FROM WALLINGTON in SURREY, ENGLAND

 

My photography journey started in my mid teens in the mid 1980s. Back then, like all teenage boys, I wanted to be in a pop band. Trouble was, I couldn't play an instrument or sing a note in tune. So, being hugely impressed by the photographic work of Anton Corbijn, who shot lots of my favourite bands in a gritty b&w style, I decided to do the next best thing and become a photographer.

To be honest, photography had always been there for me - both my dear old Grandmother and father were keen amateur snappers and some of that must have rubbed off. So jumping into photography wasn't a huge leap of faith. Like all things, as soon as I set my mind on it, I become totally obsessed and passionate about it and I was quickly swallowed up by the old street photographers and photojournalists such as Henri Cartier-Besson, Garry Winogrand, Robert Frank, Don McCullin and the whole Magnum press agency and was soon shooting out on the street in a candid and natural way. For a complete wedding day my wedding fee is 1250.00. This is from 2 hours before the ceremony time through to at least an hour after the first dance.
