Kids (Being Kids): Entries of found moments depicting babies, children, and youth doing what they do best (kids being kids)!
Judges Comment: Even sullen and grumpy kids can make for fun images :) This super-clean capture is nicely composed and not over-toned. Well done!
Judges Comment: A different take on a kids wedding photo which doesn't show wedding but instead captures the curiosity of a little girl. Beautiful image!
Judges Comment: Strong graphic elements and wonderful composition present a unique and quiet moment. Our only suggestion is a slight highlight dodge to her face. Great eye!
Judges Comment: This slice of childhood is forever preserved thanks to a prepared wedding photojournalist.
Judges Comment: Yum! The cake provides a good entry point and the light in the top left corner of the frame helps provide good separation between the boy and background.
Judges Comment: Kids (of all ages) can be pretty fun to shoot and these two are just having a blast. To clean up the frame, we'd suggest cropping from both the right and left side of the image.
Judges Comment: Nice moment as the little girl runs past the bride and groom. The heavy vignette and toning give this image a nice warm feel. Small suggestion: burn down the lower left-hand corner of the frame.
Judges Comment: Quiet in the church is what kids try to be but not all are successful. Nice seeing by the photographer to capture this moment. A great image that could use a bump in contrast.
Judges Comment: It's an unusual location to find kids playing but this one works well and captures the two hanging out. We'd suggest cropping from the right up to the Elvis frame.
Judges Comment: The joy is evident on the faces of the bride and groom. The children are framed nicely within the window. The top third of the image is too bright and could be easily improved with a simple crop down from the top.
Judges Comment: We really appreciate the uniqueness of this image as well as the aging treatment.
Judges Comment: ‘Ewww’ is what most kids do when adults smooch and this photographer sure captured the ‘ewww face’! The pink flowers distract from the moment and the image would be a much quicker read if converted to black and white.
Judges Comment: Caught in the wedding day shuffle, this well-timed and framed image captures what perhaps many kids feel like on the wedding day.
Judges Comment: Let's get the show on the road! Okay, maybe just an afternoon nap instead? Weddings can be lots of hurry up and wait but sometimes kids don't have the energy to keep going all day. Nice seeing by the photographer by capturing the kids but also including the adults (who look half asleep as well!).
Judges Comment: It seems like cameras are the new kids toys at weddings lately. There were several entries of kids with cameras. This one stood out from the rest because of the framing, secondary action (little girl dancing) and nicely-toned black and white which took down the distracting background.
Judges Comment: Late night parties don't always jive with kids’ sleep habits and we often see the little ones plopping down to sleep anywhere. Good use of existing candlelight to capture this moment. This image feels a bit flat and could use a stronger vignette along with an overall contrast boost.
Judges Comment: You can dress them up but you can't take them anywhere. Nice capture!
Judges Comment: Zipping out of the way as the ceremony goes on, this little groomsman dashes for cover. The image would benefit from cropping down at least one third from the top of the frame.
Judges Comment: Wahoo, this girl's face really makes this image as she clings to the bride's train. The image suffers from too much contrast and too little detail in both the blacks and whites.
Judges Comment: The dancing shadows within this image are obviously the little ones having a blast. We also like the background subjects and their various actions.
