Ceremony: The most stunning images with the greatest opportunity for visual harmony and alliteration come from wedding ceremonies. The ceremony starts with the pre-show, climaxes with the vow exchange and finishes with the receiving line.
Judges Comment: Looking down on this created a very graphic angle. The color of the shirts contrasting against the almost magenta carpet on the neutral stone background really makes this image quite strong. About the only thing that would make this better would be if the legs of each man were moving in symmetry. Regardless it is a really nice image.
Judges Comment: Again a great angle and the camera tilt really helps this. The toning is well done and I like that the dress is still predominately white. The little sense of movement and the sharpness of the couple is also a really nice touch.
Judges Comment: Very nice effect and I love the framing with the steps leading down. My only problem with the image is that I wish the bride and groom were retouched just a bit to make them pop more.
Judges Comment: Great design and very graphic and black and white works very well here. The sky could have been darkened better and more even. The halo around the trees bother me a bit but still really nice image.
Judges Comment: The muted green tone of the background contrasting the man in the tux with the umbrella is a nice touch. The vignetting around the sides is a bit bothersome and I think the image would be stronger without it.
Judges Comment: Very simple image that works really well. I love the color foreground and the couple as grayscale. Simple and graphic.
Judges Comment: Very graphic. I love the rounded lighting at the top and like the way the rest of the image was taken down but you can still see the bride and groom as non silhouettes. I might suggest opening up the bride and groom even a little more to make them pop but it is really a great image nonetheless.
Judges Comment: Fun image with good emotion and well executed. I like the darkend blue sky. The only thing that would have made this a bit stronger would have been to have the white birds against the dark blue sky.
Judges Comment: Really nice color and tone. I love the blues and greens on the door. The image is simple and clean.
Judges Comment: Great design and fantastic detail. Very well done.
Judges Comment: Very unique image. I love looking down the aisle and the toning and light are handled very well. Might suggest selectively toning the dress just a shade lighter to make it stand out a bit more.
Judges Comment: Nicely done. Good composition and a great sky. Could use a bit more detail in the white dress and I would like to see what looks like the wheel of motorcycle on the right side removed.
Judges Comment: Great gesture. The image is well done. I wish the two guys were not looking away. The grain effect and toning are a nice touch.
Judges Comment: I assume the boy is sneezing and not crying but great gesture either way. The muted skin tones work well here but could use a bit more detail in the shadows.
Judges Comment: Nice moment with the release of the doves. The color is quite pleasing. The sky was a little heavy handed especially on the upper right side.
Judges Comment: I went back and forth on this image but the more I looked at it the more I liked it. The blown out feeling actually works well and I love the green on the left side and the bare trees on the right.
Judges Comment: Simple but well done. I think the image would be stronger if the sky was bought down a bit and the vignetting on all four corners was removed.
Judges Comment: Love the hand with the bouquet and the flying veil. Nice composition and nice moment.
Judges Comment: Simple and clean. I just wish the photographer smoothed out the ripples in Photoshop in the runner as the image would have been much stronger.
Judges Comment: This is an image that I kept coming back to. The dark foreground subject against the lighter background creates a very mystical feeling which is further enhanced with the toning of the image.
