Details (Found): Entries that encompass tighter shots of the day's small slices AS THEY WERE FOUND.
Judges Comment: A beautiful tightly cropped image of a bride’s hand. The shallow depth of field coupled with the rich deep reds make this a wonderful artistic image.
Judges Comment: It’s as if the wedding dress is underwater with its flow and light from above. There’s some very cool movement in this image. It says wedding without being a traditional detail shot.
Judges Comment: This is a detail that is unexpected in its framing. Cropping off the heads of the bride and bridesmaids and focusing on their dresses was a good choice of the photographer. The one hand waving gives this image a unique moment.
Judges Comment: This high-key image draws in the flow of the gown along with the flow of the arms and the legs. It all works together to create an exquisite moment.
Judges Comment: It’s a soft, simple image. The colors of the bouquet burst amongst the lightly toned, pastel background. The flowers resting on the bride’s shoulder is an extra element on the photo.
Judges Comment: The shallow depth of field, along with the black and white and very tight crop, make this a lovely image of a happy bride.
Judges Comment: There were many hand photos in this category and this image stood out because of its simplicity and elegance. The darkening of the edges draws you into the main focus of the photo — the bride’s hands.
Judges Comment: This is a funny found detail. The message taped to the bottom of the groom’s shoes (Freedom R.I.P.), framed with the bride’s dress, makes for a unique and comical moment. Good catch by the photographer.
Judges Comment: The basket of flowers is a graceful image. The subtle toning really makes this photo stand out.
Judges Comment: The colors radiate in this image. The draping orange ribbon adds an unexpected element in the otherwise perfect bouquet.
Judges Comment: It’s like a whisper of a photo. The light shimmering off the veil and the glow from behind the bride’s face add to the beautiful ambience.
Judges Comment: A good, simple detail shot. The color of the flower pops against the textured suit jacket. It says “wedding” subtly.
Judges Comment: A nice documentary photo. The photographer captured a nice moment as the bride reaches in to get her bouquet.
Judges Comment: The vintage toning effect makes this photo work. A very creative way to display an often-photographed scene.
Judges Comment: The colors make this image successful. The way the woman elegantly holds the bouquet draws you into the setting. A nicely cropped photo as well.
Judges Comment: A good eye by the photographer to capture this interesting detail. The bare feet and rice stand out against the brilliant red carpet and make this succeed.
Judges Comment: A whimsical moment that was caught by the photographer. It’s well-framed and simple. It gets the point across quickly.
Judges Comment: This has an intriguing crop. A fun moment as the bride and groom drive away on a motorcycle. Both rings show as he holds her leg and she his arm. Photographer captured the body language spot-on.
Judges Comment: The shot works well with the angle the photographer chose. Leaving the spotlight in was a good call. The colors compliment each other.
Judges Comment: This detail shot is not complicated and that’s what makes it work. The green cherries are the appealing feature in this otherwise traditional shot.
