Flower Details:
Judges Comment: Subtle color and strong composition creates a very pleasing dreamlike quality.
Judges Comment: Strong use of color, focus and composition.
Judges Comment: The composition and depth of field choice made this abstract portrait a top choice. I thought the photographer did a nice job balancing the saturation and color palate. Beautiful picture.
Judges Comment: Strong use of color and texture.
Judges Comment: The photographer really capitalized on the great color from this wedding and created a great detail. Very good toning and highlight work on the flowers. The lens flare seemed a little heavy to me, but overall a great detail.
Judges Comment: This image was a little more straight-forward, but the saturation and lensing choices by the photographer made this one stand out among many images shot this way. I thought it was a classy picture, a very nice detail to give to the bride.
Judges Comment: Really impressed with this image. The photographer took a big chance to execute this in black and white and it really works beautifully. Great job.
Judges Comment: Very nice color, light, texture and use of focus.
Judges Comment: This picture is a great example of the power of depth of field - it accentuates the flowers without losing the brides amazing smile. And the colors really pop! Post production very nicely done.
Judges Comment: Good framing, but just a moment late. The bouquet would have been better just to the left of the window frame. Overall, the most original and unexpected composition in this category.
Judges Comment: Simple clean design with strong composition created with the key elements to the left of center.
Judges Comment: Toning and detail work very well and again very strong composition. Nice Job.
Judges Comment: I loved the unique presentation of this detail. The image almost looks like a scientific document! The tone and saturation are well done for this image – this type of manipulation would not work on any bouquet, but it worked really well with this one. Very creative choice by the photographer.
Judges Comment: Beautiful face and styling. Overall the use of color is good, but would be better if the eyes didn’t look obviously manipulated. The whites of her eyes are too blue from an apparent color “enhancement” that should have been isolated to the iris. Also, since the eyes are being manipulated, the red should have been retouched out of her left eye. In the end, great subjects make great pictures, but this could be a significantly better image with more skillful retouching technique.
Judges Comment: The soft focus, muted light color create a very nice image and I love the photographer's approach with the bouquet.
