Judges Comment: Non traditional image with really strong graphic design, gesture and color. I love the crop. Awesome image.

Judges Comment: This image is simple, but sometimes simple works. You go to the background and move to the couple in an exciting way. The crop works on this picture and her leg popped up is a must. Also the way the light caught her shoulder helps the silhouette not get “blocked-up.”

Judges Comment: I really like this image a great deal. I love the color of the gondolas and all the negative white space. Very nice.

Judges Comment: This image had a film noir style to it that I really liked. It seemed to be the right couple, particularly the bride, to pull this off. The black and white was toned well and the image really stuck out among the choices.

Judges Comment: The entire series with this couple is very strong. Very natural with a sense of authentic emotion.

Judges Comment: Not all the images that supplied a dramatic sense of place worked, but this one did. The couple was composed perfectly in the scene, and even though they were very small, I found them right away. It is a lovely picture, and a nice complement to give the couple with more intimate pictures. Well done.

Judges Comment: Strong composition and use of focus to capture a mood.

Judges Comment: I am sure it is easy to forget sometimes that this is all about “givin’ the love.” Well this picture is all about it! The two are placed in a whimsical, lovely photograph. The color is great and their body language is perfect. Well done by the photographer.

Judges Comment: There were several photographers that tried this and were not nearly as successful. It has to be about placement of the couple, timing of the blur and their background. It all came together here in a lovely way. The post-production by the photographer was very nice as well.

Judges Comment: Great sky and really strong but simple graphic image.

Judges Comment: In my opinion, the best of many entries that isolate the couple in an everyday environment. The emotion and connection feels real. Strong use of color and composition.
